The Bureau of Land Management says yesterday’s auction of federal oil and gas leases on western Colorado’s Roan Plateau is a record setter. The agency raked in an estimated 114 million dollars from the controversial sale in Denver. But as Kirk Siegler of KUNC reports, that number is far lower than most were expecting.
