e are planning a SOCC

We’re back!!

The SOCC is back on the air!!!!!! We have DJ’s on the air everyday of the week from now until 8th block! Tune in at around noon for student programming. From 2:00 AM until Noon will be Jazz from NPR. Our schedule is new this year and will be up on this site soon along with DJ bios. Listen for us in Worner, Rastall, and the dorms! Remember you can tune in on HD radios or on our internet streams!

Thanks to a Life of the Mind Grant from the college, we bought a bunch of HD radios and we installed our first one today in Rastall cafeteria. SOCC will be playing from noon through dinner time, so if you’ve got a lunch or dinner slot, prepare to have some listeners!

We’re going to also get some HD radios up in Worner, Benji’s, the Arts & Crafts studios, the weight room, the Tiger Pit, and hopefully Herb n’ Farm soon.

Thanks also to Joe Seguin who volunteered some time to install the radio.

New Stream Link.

Attention streamers…  If you connect to CC’s internal network (Tigernet) either via wireless or wired connection, please use this new streaming link: 192k stereo. If you are off-campus, you may continue to use the internet stream link: 112k stereo.  The SOCC’s resources are slim and we have only 40 internet streaming slots, so if you’re on campus, use the internal streaming link.  The sound quality is better and there are hundreds of internal streaming slots, not just 40.  Thanks!

Recruitment

The SOCC is in need of substitute DJs! All of our full-time slots are full, but if you are interested in a part-time, substitute job with the station we want you. These jobs could turn into full-time DJ jobs next year as we have some seniors leaving. These positions will be first come, first serve for now. If you are interested please email us at makeradio@gmail.com.

Catalyst Article!

The SOCC is featured in the Catalyst, Vol 38, No 19, 2008, for 4/4!

Stream of Love

We have streaming set up through KRCC’s main page, which might be redundant information since if you’re here, you probably know enough about our station to have started streaming. We will have an in-network stream linked off CC’s main page by next block. That means you can listen to the station at high quality sound and speed when you are logged into the Colorado College network. So, DJs and readers who see this: tell everyone! And if you just arrived at this page, also check out our “Program Schedule”  and other links to the left of this blog box. It’ll help you know what’s on, when it’s on, and who’s running the show.
